Do they make a hammer that holds the nail on the head for easier nailing?

My son has been wanting one, and his birthday is coming up soon. Any insight on this matter, would be greatly appreciated.Do they make a hammer that holds the nail on the head for easier nailing?
they make ones like this that have a magentic nail starter, it holds the nail so you can put a little effort behind it and then you nail it in.

no sorry
You can hold the nail with a clothes pin and hammer it that way.... when it gets close enough, remove the clothes pin and finish it off.....
I don't think so. That would be a good invention through. Good luck finding one
not that i know of, but that is a really good idea
Get a nail gun!
The whole reason for a magnetic nail starter on a hammer is that you can start the nail in places you can't reach with your hand to hold the nail such as above you head. Once the initial blow starts the nail, the wood holds it in place and you finish driving the nail. I personally have used a few hammers with this feature and love it. It comes in handy when you can't reach or if you need your other hand to keep you from falling or slipping. A link to a manufacture of a high end version is below.
How would you aim it to get the nail in the correct place? Buy him an air nailer and small compressor.
They have a magnetic hammer on Amazon.com, among other places. Just google magnetic hammer.

However, my mother taught me to hold the nail with a clothespin. If that's not too girly, it works really, really well.
i have never heard or seen one or habe seen any knowledge of one.knews to me if they have one.would be a great invention though.
Yes they do, but it's not the great idea you might think. The problem is, most people can't hit a spot with a hammer with much accuracy. Which means if the nail didn't start in the spot you wanted it to, you have to wiggle it out and try again. I would say call a local high end hardware store if you have one in your town, or try Sears, they sometimes still have some old style framing hammers with magnetic heads. I like the clothes pin idea, I think I will try it. Otherwise tell your son to hold the nail between his index and second finger about mid joint, palm out, like a cigarette. If you miss,it still hurts, but not nearly as bad as a smashed thumb!
Um they do but i am sorry don't know what its called i do how ever know it holds the nails in the handle and holds them and it comes out and sticks on the head i am sorry i could not have been more help:(
not really because that wouldn't be practical - you can always get a nail gun. but that depends on how old ure son is!!!
