Where does hair grow from? The head or the end of old hair? Where do nails grow from? The cuticles or ends??? ?

What I'm trying to ask is when your hair grows, where does the new hair come from? Does the new hair come from the head, or the ends? If you are not sure, and you have/had your hair died before, you can find out the answer easily. If you had black hair and you died it brown, and month later, did you see black hair closer to your head or the ends of your hair? If the black hair is closer to your head that means that new hair grows from your head.

I am very curious to find out the answer to this question, so please answer it. If possible support your answer with a reliable website. Thanks.Where does hair grow from? The head or the end of old hair? Where do nails grow from? The cuticles or ends??? ?
Where does the tree grow from?

The root.

Our hair and nails grow from the root. The roots of your hair are under the skin. The roots of your nails are under the cuticle. It is in the root of the hair and nails where the new nail or hair is grown. The hair that you see is really just lots of dead cells joined together, same thing goes with your nails. The white part at the tip of your nail is all dead cells.Where does hair grow from? The head or the end of old hair? Where do nails grow from? The cuticles or ends??? ?
Both hair and nails grow from the base (follicles in the scalp and the cuticles respectively). The part of the hair and nails that you can see is dead material; the living part is inside, under your skin.

Thus your original hair color will start to appear at the base of your dyed hair.
first of all, trees grow from the ends. not the root.

you hair on the other hand, grows from the follicle in your scalp.
your hair grows form your head and your nails grow from your cuticle.
I don't want to be mean, but that has to be hands down one of the stupidest questions I have ever heard.
are you serious?

Hair stylists i need your help! ok when i scratch my head i get like white stuff under my nails?

i dont know why. my mom says its because i probably do not wash the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair properly but i dont know. how do i know what it is. people said i have like scalp psoriasis or something but there are no like white spots. i think it might just be dandruff or something ot mayeb just because i dont wash out the stuff from my hair please help me!!Hair stylists i need your help! ok when i scratch my head i get like white stuff under my nails?
its dandruff i get that to. try using head and shoulder to try to get rid of dandruff and when u wash ur hair dont wash it with really hot water because your scalp dries out and that can cause dandruff. ur scalp is very delicateHair stylists i need your help! ok when i scratch my head i get like white stuff under my nails?
That used to happen to me but what you can try is using a dandruff-fighting shampoo or even try to deep condition and don't keep scratching your head nomatter hoe itchy it gets its bad for your scalp
It's probably build up of products that you use...Shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, whatever...Make sure you get all of it out!
That my friend is your scalp. Your finger nails are digging into your skin, your head has soft tissues. This happens to everyone the harder you scratch the more skin you scratch out.
you must have dandruff; sometimes its from putting TOO much product in your hair but hey we all do it!!

but make sure you dont put too much conditioner in your hair either; if you do make sure you wash it ALL out!!!
It's called unhealthy hair. And the white stuff is dandruff!
no hair stylist. but your mom could be right. or like you said, it could be dandruff.
I have the same problem too but I never thought much of it.

Why does Psychic on Montel clean her nails on her teeth after picking Cooties on her head and Mites from ears

NastyWhy does Psychic on Montel clean her nails on her teeth after picking Cooties on her head and Mites from ears
Yeah, I've noticed that too. I think she needs some scalpicin for her damned old itchy head. Maybe a good shampooing is in order. And... She needs to cut those long hawk claw fingernails she's sporting anyway. Perhaps that would eliminate her need to clean them with her teeth. Why does Psychic on Montel clean her nails on her teeth after picking Cooties on her head and Mites from ears
Because she is told to through the use of her channeling!
I cannot answer this question, because i dont know, but it is really weird. i just wanted to acknowledge that i've seen it happen...gross.
I know!!! what is with those long talons anyway! Shes always putting them in her mouth or scratching her head with them. Maybe she does it to stop herself telling Montell to shutup interupting. Which he does ALL THE TIME!! so annoying. I dont even know why he bothers to have guests when all he wants to do is hear himself speak.
Thanks! now I'll never be able to watch Silvia again. Not that I believe in her ability. I did find people's response to her interesting. As I do yours! ,which is ULK!

dandruffWhen i scratch my head theres white powder in my nails?
Could it be dry skin thats falling off, the more you itch the more it falls, and of course bleed?

I honestly have no idea. If it's were your worrying head to the doctor.
    you may have psoriasis

A chronic disease of the skin consisting of itchy, dry, red patches, usually affecting the scalp or arms and legs.

An exaggerated form of exfoliation in the scalp. Symptoms include scaling, extreme dryness, and discomfort

A chronic, noncontagious disease that occurs when the growth of new skin cells rapidly accelerates, resulting in thick, red, scaly, inflamed patches on the skin surface. There is currently no cure for psoriasis, but many treatment options are available.

A chronic skin disease affecting 1鈥?% of the population, in which the skin becomes inflamed, producing red, thickened areas with silvery scales, most often on the scalp, elbows, knees and lower back. ...

is a common skin disease in which portions of the skin are covered with dry, red patches with silvery scales. Common sites are the trunk, knees, elbows, and scalp. The disease can be triggered by a variety of stresses to the body and is characterized by flare-ups and partial remissions.
It could be eczema or psoriasis. You can buy this shampoo that is yellowish brown, I don't remember the name of it, and it does not smell good when you use it. But it works.

Or if you don't want to try that, go to the skin Dr., that's prob what he or she will have you do or give you script.
that happens with me too sometimes. i'll be scratching my head (sometimes it's not even itchy) and when i look at my nails there's white stuff, %26amp; after a while there will be red stuff too. i'm not sure what it is, but my guess is that it's just your scalp skin? %26amp; from scratching it too much, it makes it red (possibly a little form of blood?) - like pretty much anything, if you scratch it too much it turns red also. that's what i just tell myself %26amp; try not to scratch it..
go to the doctor you probably have eczema, its a skin condition. It just causes you to have dry skin
dead skin and prob scrating it so hard blood comes up and dries up with it. it doesnt sound bad. just wash ur scalp better.

Can I get a yellow nails from itching my lice infected head?

If i scratch my head a dandruff type powder comes uder my nails!?

that is your scalp. use a dandruff shampoo or morsterizing shampoo\conditionar to make your scalp a little less dry and itchyIf i scratch my head a dandruff type powder comes uder my nails!?
you have dandruff and need to get some head and shouldersIf i scratch my head a dandruff type powder comes uder my nails!?
that happens to me too.. u just need to wash your hair and use your nails to scrub your scalp really good (like they do in a salon they massaeg the shampoo into your scalp) i think this helps. it could be product buildup too i know i put lotsa different hair products in my hair before washing it out
It could be a build up of hair products. Neurtogena makes a really good shampoo to remove the buildup periodically. You may also want to give your scalp a good rub down to loosen up dead skin cells.
massage your scalp with coconut oil and lemon juice mix 30 min b4 u go 2 bath .

try 4-5 times u will get rid of this
sometimes it may be ur scalp is dry that will lead to dandruff.

Is it okay for a man to wear woman's clothing? I mean from nails to wig done from head to toe?

I am a 30 + crossdrsser and i get my nails professionaly done and i have gone to makeup school and hair styling school. I don't just dress up to look like a truck driver in a dress. I most of the time pass for a real female when out shopping and such.this brings me all the joy in the world. I was just wondering how females primarily feel about this as I am heterosexual. I don't want to be female I just love looking like one.Is it okay for a man to wear woman's clothing? I mean from nails to wig done from head to toe?
You have already given yourself permission to enjoy being a girl, and it sounds like you are good at it. You do not need anyone else's blessing. Unlike some other answerers, I see nothing in your post to suggest this is any sort of fetish, it is simple something that allows you to express yourself as a complete person. So don't worry about it.

I wouldn't mind being seen with you. I bet we could have great fun shopping and being out and about. You could give me more than a few tips on hair, make-up, and fashion. I bet you are also a much nicer guy to be around when you are in your male form.

Enjoy being a girl, but also be careful. Is it okay for a man to wear woman's clothing? I mean from nails to wig done from head to toe?
I'm female and I think ';Do as you please';. Go ahead and enjoy your life as much as you want! You get to live only once!

Not many people can be as honest as you can be. It's a great thing and I'm glad that you enjoy it!

I hope you'll have great new year of 2008!
i think it's ok all the more power to you
There are no simple generalizations that answer this question. Females may think you are cute, or interesting, or scary -- it depends on them and the way you present yourself.

Overall, the best answer I can give you is that women will be far more accepting of you than most men, straight or gay. Some women will be your friend -- perhaps a very close friend -- but most will not enter into a romantic relationship with you.

Since you have been to makeup and hairstyling classes, you are probably able to engage a lot of women in conversation very easily. They will be curious about how you shop, how you deal with salespeople, who knows about your crossdressing, how your family deals with your crossdressing, etc. They would probably like to ask you how you would react if a man came on to you, but will be too polite to ask. Women are usually very interested in why, having a birth sex as a male, you are willing to appear in a gender that is often considered less powerful and may be taken less seriously. By contrast, most men will be threatened by your appearance, and will have very little interest in talking with you.
thats great. you should do the thing that makes you most happy! (as long as they are within the law and are not causing harm to anyone) lol.

dont take no bulls**t from people.

be true to yourself and do what makes you happy. dont be affected by anyone elses judgement. =)

hope this was helpful huni x
By your own admission you have no actual gender issues. If you are honest, you do this because it is a sexual fetish and frankly, parading your sexual fetishes in public is offensive. Play dress up at home.
Of course it's OK. I can't see how your cross dressing causes anyone else harm, or why it should be anyone's business but your own. The only problem I can think of is you might get into trouble if you are caught using a ladies' bathroom, so you need to be careful.

There are plenty of straight guys who like to cross dress. You just need to find a woman who is happy with this aspect of your personality - perhaps one who would be willing to participate with you in dressing up.

    Good luck.
