Yep. I raise my Pilsner Urquell to him.Did Czech President Vaclav Klaus hit the nail on the head re: global warming?
Believers virtually always failed history and so do not believe what it teaches and so the skeptical minority must always fight the battle of reason with unreason to advance society to the next level! So the real problem with those who can not see the hoax and feel superior to skeptics is two fold, education and environment. Education because they have been taught to accept information delivered from a particular source or in a certain way to be incontrovertible and unquestionable in accuracy. Environment because most of the people they associate with are similar in viewpoint.

Born skeptics comprise less than 10% of the worlds population and most of the rest are made from being pulled into a hoax or scam and getting embarrassed when they learned the truth. This even though I was born generically skeptical is what pushed me over the edge into being a full-blown skeptic of anything that even smelled a little bit rotten. And the whole AGW/GCC thing smells to me like a load of trash fish left on the dock to rot for a week or so. So to me your friend sounds like a normal naive liberal who has never had their hands burned by a con artist yet and is unaware such things exist. So until they get roasted a couple of times and start getting smart all you can do is advance educational materials and hope for the best.

That's an interesting article, with some excellent key points at the end. It drives home the fact of just how much politicians want to control our actions and thought process. I would have been a bit more blunt and called Al Gore and others a fraud, but that wouldn't have been too politically correct I suppose.
Interesting parallels between radical-environmentalism and communism. Both use unproven theories as the justification for a particular type of government.

During the communist take over, I expect that many communists said, well even if Marxist theories are incorrect, we should establish communism for the greater good.
Yep. If McCain said something like this, it would earn him a lot of respect. I guess the closest we can come is Palin. They better not try and muzzle her. I have heard Bush people are fretting all over her making sure she doesn't say this or that. Free Sara Palin. Free Sara Palin. But I digress.
Gentlemen you must remember most people who vote republican are deserters from the democratic party that feel their party no longer represents them. But then their thinking is still democrat, not republican. The last true republican was Teddy Roosevelt!

“I didn’t leave the Democrat party, it left me” - Ronald Reagan

Yeah, somebody get those yellow bellied advisers away from her and let her go back on attack.

Sigh...the Republicans do it every time. They temper their beliefs in the name of communal cooperation and get slaughtered.
