Especially the scene where a religion is created, a messiah is proclaimed, a schism occurs, heritics are attacked...... all within the space of a few minutes.

Absolutely. I love the ';Life of Brian'; so much. it's funny but it also has a message attached and it totally sums up my thoughts on the pointlessness of religion.Didn't the film ';The Life of Brian'; hit the nail right on the head in it's parody of religion ?

Its a jolly good movie alright. Totally off subject: my favorite part is when the Roman soldiers chase him up a tower and he is trapped. He has no choice, so he jumps, lands in a passing flying saucer, goes on a wild chase, and the sacuer crashes right outside the tower he fell from.
one of the best films of our time. It is funny, yet puts a serious message across.
