Joey Summerskill (Terry Farrell) flung this insulting nickname on the lead cenobite in ';Hellraiser 3.'; And apparently the name stuck. Blame the film's screenwriter Peter Atkins.
In the original film he was just ';LEAD CENOBITE'; the term pinhead was coined by the effects crew to distinguish him from the others
It sounded better than pin-cushion.
