Are clipped head nails to building code in WI?

I am looking to buy a framing nails, and would like to buy one now that I won't have to worry about purchasing another if code changes. I think clipped head is to code currently, but would like some reassurance. And also if anyone has any idea if WI Building code is working its way to ';code out'; clipped head nails as I have ever other parts of the country are doing. Are clipped head nails to building code in WI?

I live in an area where clipped head nails are allowed, but do a lot of work in areas where they are not. My advice, just buy a full head nailer and avoid the problem altogether. First you know that you will be in compliance with any code. Also, there are times when you shoot a nail, and it doesn't seat all the way and you need to hit it with a hammer to drive it in. There is more head area on the nail in which to drive it in. And more importantly, sometimes you drive in a nail and have to pull it back out, and often, when the claws of the hammer pull on a clipped head nail that is driven in tight, the ends will bend up instead of pulling the nail out. It then turns into a little hassle to pull the nail out. I've used both and prefer full head nails. The only downside to using them is that you can only install two racks of nails in at a time instead of three, but that's about it. One thing to look into, there are several nailers out there that can shoot both full head and clipped head nails, or at least claim to. I've never had one so I'm not sure how they work. May want to look into it. If you are planning on using it on a daily basis, go with a good quality gun like a Hitachi and not an off brand. If it's something you are going to use only occasionally, then just about any brand will do.
